i was wondering, if i have softmod installed, and gonna use auto installer
can i format my c: and put back ms dash, and after i format, wouldn't i lose the feature to boot off dvdr so i couldn't install it? or do i install it after i just format?

The first option in the softmod is to backup your C drive. There is an option to restore C and the MS dash.

This is the easiest way to use SID and AID together

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE THE MS DASH UNLESS YOU ARE DEALING WITH A XBOX 1.5 OR EARLIER

1) Put the SID gamesave on your xbox, launch, and softmod your box.
2) Launch AID
3) Delete the files off C Drive using the Filemanager (you'll find it in the tools section)
4) Install the MS Dash from AID (which is MS 5960)
5) Reboot

Now, you'll notice that the softmod is gone again, but you have the latest dash.

6) Create the softmod again, this time picking a dashboard also.(evox or unleashx)
7) Select the "Patch MS 5960" option

Once the xbox has restarted the MS Dash will work (as msdash.xbe), and evox/unleash works. Now you can continue to use AID to change your dashboard again if you wish (either to Avalaunch, MXM, or XBMC), install your apps and your emulators...
