I am putting in a new Hard drive in my xbox and just read that 138 gigs is the most space that can be used. I just bought a 200 gig hard drive to put in my box. I will take it back and get a smaller one if I am waisting space. _________________ XBOX v1.1:

What bios are you using?
Make sure you are using a bios that supports HD's larger than 137GB.
It needs to have the LBA48 hack.
You'll need to format it after you flash your mod chip with the correct bios.

Make sure you have the M8 bios that supports larger HD's.
There are a lot of them out there that dont.
You should dowlnoad EVtool and take a look at the bios and see if it has the hack.
If it does, then you can reconfigure it to allow all storage after 137GB to show up in the F drive.
Then, save it and reflash your mod chip. I guess you have a 1.6 machine?

Yes, if you have the correct M8 bios you can put a 400GB HD and it should work.
The first M8 bios I ever downloaded only didnt have the correct hack, so I was getting the same thing that the other member was. Once I found a M8 bios that had the LBA48 hack I opened it up in EvTool and set it up to allow the F drive to be formatted up to whatever storage I had.
I even uploaded the M8 bios to this site. So, look for the M8 bios that I uploaded. It will even say, for HD's larger than 137GB.

Ok i might have got myself in some trouble. I put in my new 200 gig HD and it is only giving me 137.remainder to work with. I have an xbox 1.0 with the Xchip mod chip and 3935 dashboard. Im guessing I dont have the version with LBA48 since it only gave me 137 gigs. What is my next move?
Also using the tutorial found here, it partioned most of the disk to F is that normal I thought games stored on the disk needed to be on the E.
Well if you have any input on how to get the unused disk space that would be much appreciated, happy hollidays. _________________ XBOX v1.1:

Fistly, I would be using the Xecuter2 4983.06 bios with a 1.0 machine.
Second, if you want to also have a G drive then you would use Xecuter2 4983.67 bios.
Both bios' are here on this site and both have the LBA48 hack.
My suggestion is to download and reflash.
Once you reflash, then use the AI to format and prepare your HD.

can you pls give me the link where you uploaded the m8 bios hack...i tried searching HD larger than 137GB and couldnt find it..i have a 200gb hd and a m8 plus bios..xbox v1.6...my evox just gives me 137gb..pls help..thanks
