my xbox live worked great before i modded my xbox, and now all i get is the error unable to continue due to technical difficulties, please try again later. TRYING LATER DOESN'T WORK
I used the evox autoinstaller and everything on my box came in the auto installers for evox and emus. i also have some games saved and roms.
I'm about to go out and buy a new xbox, money is tight right now so I thought i would try for help one last time.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Also does xbconnect work if you are playing a game from your hard drive?

Woah hold up man, does it say "Xbox Live not found" cause I've never heard of "because of technical difficulties" And how long has this happened to you? Cause you could just get a new hd and virgin eeprom. See thats my problem I've been getting live not found and either I need a new eeprom or a new hd or both, but I'm just a little low on money so I'll hold up on xbl I guess =(... _________________ Xbox V1.4

thanks for trying, I think i might just get a new xbox, but i was really trying to avoid it.

Ya, i just did the same kind of thing and now i am so mad at myself. I though it would be a cool thing to softmod my xbox, and since it was a softmod, i figured it would be easy as pie to erase if i didnt like it or if i needed to go on live.....BOY WAS I WRONG!
I pressed the "Restore MS Backup" button and tried to go on live.....nothing....it just says "Could not connect to XBOX LIVE. Do you want to troubleshoot your network connection?" When I troubleshoot, it says my cables are connection but the network gateway could not be reached. Verify the IP addresses match the settings provided by your ISP. See www.xbox.com/connect for more information.
PLZ HELP, I just want to go on Live with my friends....I dont even have any motivation whatsoever to mod my console now that I know how much it screws it up.

WOOHOO I found the resolution to my problem and its actually quite easy. I realized that it was because Live couldnt find my XBox's IP, or someting to do with my IP was wrong, so I started the troubleshooter and this time, rather than just letting the troubleshooter tell me what was wrong, I went into settings, and found the IP Address, etc. settings. At the very bottom there was an option for Manual. I just changed this to Automatic and tried to connect again, and it worked

I've also had this problem before in the past, but rest assured, after a few days I was able to get back onto the Live server. The message was the "technical difficulties" message. It has something to do with NAT (Network Address Translation) and your ISP. Or this is one of the ways to get this error message. When you are on the troubleshooter screen and it's serching for the IP Address, press the "Y" button, and then press the "A" button, and if it says NT:0 it's your ISP.

What if ur NT is at one what is the problem then? And does anyone know if u canplay online with games off a hardrive?
