Hi everyone. New to the forum here. First I'd like to say thank you to the community for keeping such an awesome gaming device alive! It was my first step into modding and I've been addicted since haha. Anyway...
I'm looking for a rom pack with/without emulators that is setup specifically for a stock 8gb HDD softmodded xbox, to be used with FTP or from a disc. I've run into some issues with transferring files via FTP. One has to do with the naming limit, and another is an error I can't figure out. But of the SNES library only, there are about 170 games that won't transfer. So I was looking for a pre-made pack of adjusted names and such that my xbox would take without issues. Not sure if one exists or not.
Even if there is a way to batch-rename them, that would work also. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You get problems like this when FTPing, particularly with FileZilla. With a big FTP queue containing multiple small files I reckon 5% - 10% fail to transfer first time.
Usually if you just re-queue the failed transfers will eventually copy
but very often that will have to be repeated several times.
If it is a genuine naming limit issue you can trying using FTP using a XBMC dash rather than UnleashX if that is what you are using now. XBMC can be installed as an app and the benefits still apply.
It is slower than when using UnleashX but XBMC has some sort of parsing capability (I hope that is the riight term) in that it can correct, within limits, some non-compliant Xbox/FATX file names.
Worth trying.
Another 'trick' is to ZIP or RAR the whole package (BTW must be ZIP not 7Zip). That generally seems to work but there is a UnleashX/FATX ZIP/RAR file size limit on this of <4GB.
But you then have the 'fun' of unpacking it on the Xbox and that is not always a pain free exercise either if there are file name issues involved.
Whilst UnleashX has a built in ZIP/RAR unpacker in its file manager it is a little realised feature of XBMC's equivalent that is can unpack compressed achives too and, I think, do the same auto-renaming mentioned earlier.
But it is an awkward facillity - you have to open up the ZIP or RAR file and manually copy the contents of the archive to a new folder. It unpacks them during the copy process.

These are the ROM sets from Babylon 2 which are 100% XBOX compliant and will all fit on a stock HDD and are also properly named to work with the Xtras artwork and such if you upgrade that HDD and want it looking extra fancy.
