There's plenty of information on how to burn an original Xbox ISO if you Google.

The only problem you'll have is with your Xbox's disc drive media compatibility. This can also can be affected by its age.

There is one general recommendation which my own tests and the endorsement of many other users regularly burning Xbox stuff to disc confirm:-

Use Imgburn at its default "Write Image File To Disc" (ie. ISO) settings with DVD-R.

This combination is known to work with all disc drive types fitted in the Xbox ie. all versions of Hitachi, Philips, Samsung, Thomson disc drives.

I've tried at least six different DVD-R brands over the years which cover a representative range of discs from the original media manufacturers (MBI (Moser Baer India), Ritek Co., Mitusbishi CC, CMC) and they've all worked and still work fine.

The burning software is, as far as my amateurish testing allows any conclusions, in most cases irrelevant. However use Imgburn and you cut out that potential variable. It works and it is, arguably, the best free disc burning software available so there is no reason not to use it.

The are instances where using disc media is useful or even essential but I would sincerely recommend that if have for instance a Xbox backup game ISO it is likely easier to use an ISO extraction tool like Qwix or C-Xbox Tool 2.

Extract the content and then FTP that direct to your Xbox's HDD and play the game from there. Even if you burn it to disc rather than playing that better to install it on the HDD using the Xbox App: DVD2Xbox.

The only limit on this is the HDD size. But if you taken the time to mod your Xbox to be able to do these sorts of things then putting in a larger HDD should be a priority anyway.

You've not said how or even if your Xbox is modded. Softmod? Chip? TSOP?

If not there is your problem. An original retail state Xbox won't read anything except original Xbox game discs, DVDs and Audio CDs.

If it is modded then:-

Are you using actually using DVD-R with Imgburn?

What disc drive does your Xbox have fitted and how old is the Xbox?

What are you trying to burn?

I'd recommend a test burn using an AID (Auto Installer Deluxe) download. That's what I use for testing and if the disc drive can read that OK it should read anything.

For disc drive info UnleashX main menu > System > Settings > Storage or, XBMC system Info (click down right stick (R3) and open the (I) menu.
