I have a unleashx softmodded xbox and have the cords to connect a usb hard drive to the xbox

can i use this setup to play xbox iso files from the usb drive

This will not work.

The maximum the usb will read is a 4gb usb, but it is very picky about which ones.

You can try with a flashdrive, but I doubt the game will work off of one as the read speed is too slow.

Upgrade your hdd, best solution.

Playing games via USB is not an option. Nor is playing in ISO format a truly viable option. Use CXBOX-Tools to extract the ISO and FTP it to your XBOX or else burn the ISO's to DVD-r and play via disc.
