ok afetr having my old xbox in the closet for 5 years, i finally decided to take it out and see what movies i have on the HDD.
ok i have a limited edition halo xbox wich i think it's a 1.5. executer 1.5b lite chip (i think) i bought it like 8 years ago
everything was working fine but now it just boots to the error screen, giving me 05 on the top left corner and telling me to have it repair. even when i turn the chip off i get the same message. no microsoft logo or the executer logo when the chip is on. i open the xbox and looked at the chip. all the lights turn on like it's suppose to.
i have spent countless hours researching the web, i have tried installing AID and Slayer's evox but it wont read the disk, just boots to the error 05.
do i need to re-flash the bios again? and if i do where can i download the bios for the 1.5b lite chip. please any help would be great.

Hi kayman!
I'm a Noob just like yourself and I just got through setting up my first Xbox. I had the same error message which I believe is HDD not locked. I've got a Xecuter V3 and I know that I can lock/unlock the drive with it.
Hopefully someone with more experience will confirm/deny this.

exactly, your HDD is not locked, but that should not matter since you have a modchip, the modchip bypasses the normal check and should boot slayers or auto installer deluxe just fine. Sounds like your modchip may have come loose or may not be working..

thanks for the reply guys
well forahobby again i opened the xbox and looked at the chip. it's a solderless chip so i uncrewed it and put it back in. as you can see the pics all the lights comes on like it's suppose to. so i think it still works (oh i hope so)
as the error 05 being not having the xbox HDD locked, well i'm having trouble locking it because none of the cd-rw/ dvd-r (having slayer's or aid)loads on the xbox.
what else can i do? i tried almost everything
ps i forgot to mention that i did change the HDD but i was able to lock it just fine using slaye'r evox. it's just now when i turned it on i got the error.

Hmm, looks like the chip isn't working since it's booting the stock BIOS. You still could always try re-locking the HDD except using a better program such as XboxHDM (which is very easy to use). _________________

if you think my chip isn't working well, i'm kind of afraid of that gonna have to start looking for one,
i tried using XboxHDM but the guide asks for the EEProm.bin file that i also don't have because i have moved 3 times and lost 2 pc's and almost all my dvd-r's.
Can i use a hacked EEProm' because i need to have my EEProm.bin in the eeprom folder on XboxHDM.? burned the image but like i said i need that file
(because no cd-dvd media loads, like the dvd drive doesn't read them. i get is the error screen and the 05)
Is there any other way of locking the HHD with out the EEProm file?
If i buy the new chip will it let me lock the hhd? (again without the EEProm)
I have a western digital 120gb filled with movies that i dont want to loose.
