I would like to know if I can swap an already soft modded XBOX hardrive into another non-modded XBOX.

The reason being is that the disk drive no longer works in the unmodded XBOX.

All I would be using it for would be to play Rom games. Any help would be great. Thank you all.

Not possible. The Hard drive is locked to the motherboard (Dont try to unlock it) You could take the DVD Rom that works and temporarily use it to get the mod done.

Your reply is a bit vague, How what ?

How is the Hard drive locked to the motherboard ? .... via the eeprom.

How do you use the other DVD Rom ? .... Unplug the IDE cable and the little yellow (or sometimes brown) cable, do the same to the other xbox, then swap the drives.

I thought what you were saying is you could use two xboxes to literally swap drives, hdd key, eeprom, etc.
