YES I HAVE SEARCHED AND SEARCHED AND SEARCHED AND SEARCHED
i have a V1.1 with a DuoX2 GS (BLUE)on it. I want to run XBMC as the primary dash eventually so i can run it in my car.
I downloaded the 4981.67 bios from the autoinstaller 4.5 disc and am trying to modify it so that...
1) i can run the xbox WITHOUT a DVD drive.
2) Disable all "xbox" flubber or startup grafix to either a blank screen or a custom image.
MY PROBLEM SO FAR IS....
when i try to load the bios into the XBtool it comes up with an error "invalid kernel" or something similar...I beleive this may have something to with an RC4 key???
Ok so i gave up on trying to find any info on that *&$#$* XBTool programme as everyone says :
"Just load in the bios and modify it'
WRONG! IT WON"*&^*&^ LOAD IN!
X2ool PROBLEMS: I can load in the 4981.67 bios and modify all i like but when i FTP it into my xbox's "Bios" folder and reflash the changes such as dvd uncheck etc DONT WORK!!!!!
I think i have given myself a brain tumor searching the net for answers and im just about to throw this damn xbox out the window if i cant get any decent info soon.
SO QUESTIONS ARE.
1) What bios should i use and what should i edit it with?I am trying to use the 512K bios as the X@ has 2 512 spaces on it...Is that correct? Is there anything else stupid that i am missing??
2)why wont XBtool load in my bioses off the Auto installer disc?
3) Why wont X2ool actually save or execute the changes i make to the bios????
4) is there a CURRENT TUTORIAL that is more specific step by step tutorial than "just open the bios and modify it" type of thing that seems to be 99% of tutorials out on the net.
PLEASE HELP ANY INFO ON ANY OF THESE TOPICS WOULD BE GREAT!

you might have better luck with the x2 5035 bios.
In the AID download go to the `bios files` folder - then the 512kb folder, then find the 5035 bios. (you need the bios.bin file, not the rar of it, just the bios.bin file)
you can edit the bios so it wont look for the dvd rom, use the x2 5035 config maker (see this post) : http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt25130.html
Then use either EvolutionX dashboard or eurasia pro generic flash disc to flash your modified bios to your chip.

i take it i need the 5035.137 file as i have a 250 gig drive?
I read somewhere that there is a 5035(old) version that works better than the standard 5035 on early model xboxes?
Yeah you need the 137 version - as for an earlier version of the 5035, i dont know - Ive done TSOP jobs on v1.0 & v1.1 boards and never had an issue with the 5035 that comes with AID. _________________
