Here is what happened, I softmodded my Xbox with SID5 using Splinter Cell xploit. Drive C, MS Dash and EEPROM was backed-up at E: drive before I did the softmod. The dashboard is UnleashX. I then obtained an XBMC copy from a bittorrent site (I was not yet aware of this site) and FTPed the XBMC folder to E:\Apps. I then copied "SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe" to C: and renamed it to xboxdash.xbe and renamed the original xboxdash.xbe to default.xbe. After rebooting, I now get the flashing red and green lights and the contact technical support error.
I tried loading the Splinter Cell save game again but it boots back to the Splinter Cell main menu. I finally downloaded and burned AID4.5 but when I tried to boot the Xbox it now doesn't accept Splinter Cell disc or the AID4.5 copy. Is my Xbox already bricked? Please take note that it's my first time doing any mod. Thanks in advance!!!

Sounds bricked so if you did not copy the eeprom back up to your PC you will need an eeprom reader or mod chip to fix this.

I thought that the two dashboard filenames I used, xboxdash.xbe->default.xbe and (the new) xboxdash.xbe are the ones causing the problem(?) It's the only thing I changed in C: before the bootup went bad.

If the xbox wont recognize any disks then you need the eeprom to fix it, you should never play around with the C drive on a soft mod.

Check out the tutorial " Repair your xbox c drive without eeprom" I think you can use [url=http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-271.html
]xboxhdm and hotswap method[/url] to fix it. Hope this helps.

This wasn't my question, but I don't know why someone with more knowledge on the subject doesn't give their opinion on my advice. I've never tried it and basically am a noob, but would it work?

That method stands a good chance of working, and if not you can try installing 360explorer on your PC then hooking up the HDD to your PC and see if it will let you copy your .bin file so you can do an xboxhdm full rebuild.
My Xbox is ALIVE!!!
Was able to reinstall C: using xbox HD maker and I now already have XBMC in my Apps. Thank you Deviant for the xboxhdm info and thanks Wes for the link.
Next question though, how do I make XBMC my default dash. This is where I screw-up before. I don't know what I did wrong and I don't want to repeat the same mistake again. Thanks again in advance for any help.

A quick fix would be to use another xbox with a modchip etc to fix your drive up or the HDM method which i never thought of myself.. Like wes said "dont play around with C Drive on a softmod".. This is exactly why i love modchips.
Glad to hear you got it working.. Feel free to reply with exactly what you did to help other guys.
nice topic everyone. Good to see the sites still helping everyone out!

Don't let the noise of others' opinions drowns out your own inner voice, and most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
