My modded xbox has been working with absolutely no problems, but I just built another for my brother in law and nothing seems to be working right. I have a xenium ice installed in a xbox 1.0. I'm running the Xecuter 2 bios with the EvoX dashboard. Some games, such as Burnout 3 will not play with or without the disc. I can install them, but they won't play. The screen just freezes on launch. Also, I can't boot in the default Microsoft Dash, whenever I try it attempts to load then reboots and continues in that cycle till I turn off the xbox. I have tried reinstalling the dashboards, as well as the programs, but nothing has worked. I also tried installing a new hard drive, thinking that there may have been problems with it. Any direction as to the problems would be a lifesaver. My brother in law is anxiously awaiting getting his box back asap. Thanks.

Let's take it one problem at a time... Which X2 BIOS are you using? Are some games working normally? I remember I had that problem once and someone suggested that I turn the IGR to off in all places it occurs in the Evox settings. Crimson Skies would lock up after some of the initial screens. After turning all of the IGRs (3, I think) off, it worked. This is the explanatio I got.., there was some kind of bug that would cause some games to lock up when IGR was turned on in Evox settings. I'm certainly no expert, but my limited understanding is the newer BIOS don't need IGR turned on in the Evox settings for IGR to work anyway. _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

try reflashing your bios , it might be corrupt,
and use 4983.06 or 67 , dont reuse the same bios that u flashed with in a first place , go download from a different place ,

Go with the bios reflash...your bios is the heart of your modded xbox. Without a good working bios your modchip is worthless. It's the bios that sets the rules for your xbox. What it's allowed to do, what it's not allowed to do.
The xbox version doesn't matter as far as backing up games. The DVD drive doesn't matter. The HD doesn't matter...except for size, whether it will fit your backups or not...
What matters is the bios and how the games get patched when you are backing them up. Some people need games patched on their systems...why I don't know. I personally have never had to patch a game.
I am running a Xenium Ice with Xecuter2 4983.67 bios. When a bios is corrupt, it can bring all sorts of havoc to a machine. It will make it very quirky. Somethings will seem fine, while others will be buggy.

ok, i've done a little additional work on the problem, but I'm still having the same problems. I ended up flashing my bios to X2 v. 4983.67 with no effect. I also disabled the IGR everywhere that I could find it (2 places) with no change to the problem. I have also installed the dashboard switcher (which is great) and have Avalaunch and EvoX installed. When I try to run certain games (such as Burnout 3, Amped 2, etc) under EvoX the games either freeze during loading or shortly after loading. If I boot to Avalaunch I can run the games without any problem, but it is a hastle to have to reboot the xbox to switch dashboards in order to play different games. I'm hoping that this additional information might be enough for one of you experts to shed a little more light on my problems. Thanks. _________________ Volleyking99

reinstall your msdash and evox ,
and id that fails , try doing a cooling mod on the cpu and video chip ,
the cooling mod is basically replacing the cheap goo between the chips and heatsinks with hight quality thermal compound , like arctic silver etc
