hi there y'all
recently chipped my xbox with xecuter 2.6 chip and used good ole slayer to unleash it .
heres the thing - connected xbox to router by cable and can ftp with it from pc - which is also connected to router by cable .can access xbox live if xbox is started without chip switched on . then reboot xbox with chip enabled and no connection to xbox live .
is this anything to do with the MSdash being a bit dodgy - but then again cant connect with XMBC
cheers chonnock1

Is the xbox set to DHCP in you hack dash settings?
Logging in to live with the chip on will get you banned bro.

In XBMC did you make sure your Network settings are correct?
Like said before avoid Xbox live like the plague when your running any mods. Thats why I dual boot so I can use the regular dash if I want to access Xbox Live.

Well what I did because Im well like that.
In my router I said enable DCHP, but only issue addresses from and only hand out so many, just to keep others out if they attempt. You don't have to establish a range, but I want to make sure it doesn't hand out IP's that might be what I have set as static.
192.168.1.2-192.168.1.10 wireless
My two PC's I set them as Static
My laptop is wireless so I said enable DHCP
My print server, which actually acts as a router for my Xbox and Xbox360 to Static
My Xbox360 is DHCP since I never connect to it anyways
My Xbox is static.
All my devices that are static I gave them IP's so I wouldn't forget what each one is so I can connect to them at will. I sometimes change the Static IPs when I feel the need, but Im rather protected by my DSL modem/router. I block everything from the outside simply because I don't have much need to cofigure anything when work is very close to home and I can wait to get home and tinker with things. Keeps those that don't need to be in out too.
As well The reason I went static on my Xbox is I move it back and forth from the living room where my big TV is a smaller TV because my wife wants to watch TV.
Just make sure you
Configure your Xbox to either DHCP or Static
Static I use
Ip address 192.168.1.x < ----------- x can be anything thats not in the DHCP range
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1 < ------ my modem/router
DNS 4.2.2.1 < --------------- Verizon.net's DNS server

Good show man, make sure you enjoy it a bit before you tinker with it and hit your next snag. LOL
