Totally bizzare idea, But would it be safe to flash, say, Xenium OS 2.3.1 to an Xecuter3?

I woudl try this first, before posting, but i really dont want to kill my chip, as they can be a bugger to replace here in the UK as nowhere sells them anymore

I have no idea but thats a good question, if you did try i would keep one bank set to X-3 bios so you got a back up.

I don't know about the X3 bios but I know the X2 5035 bios would work fine. The X2 bios isn't all that bad either, it just doesn't have config live.

Ah cool.

well i tried to use FlashBios and X3CL to flash the XeniumOS bios to a spare bank, but to no luck....

not so much that the bios didn't work, but both X3CL & FlashBios complain that the bioses size is incorrect, The XeniumOS bios is a few KB bigger than a standard Bios.

Even bios resizers say that its to big.

So i think i've hit a dead end with that one.

But i'll keep investigating and if anything comes up, i'll keep you updated.
