OK for those that i am going t annoy with my questions i Apologies!!!
I have an xbox that was softmodded and like an idiot when i was installing Linux i did the xebian full install and killed my softmod cause it wiped the drive, no problem stuff it all i bought a Xecuter 2.6 mod chip. Installed the chip working fine. Updated bank 2 with X2 5035 bios, this updated fine and then downloaded Xebian basic linux for xbox, followed all the instructions great. did the full install again. Powered on get the x2 live boot screen and then i goes straight to the ms dash error(as my failed softmod did before i modded it error code 13 and garbled picture.) looks like its not booting from hdd.
Now my question....what bios should i be using and how do i reflash bank 2 to boot straight into Linux from my HDD, (i really want to leave bank 1 for an emergency) my Xbox is V1.6, also how do i repair the softmoded ms bios back to normal?(not important as long as i can get the Linux working from my HDD)
I have really trawled the sites to look for the answer first but to no avail.

No worries guys, i sorted it, was being an idiot, you know what its like search and search. Go back to google and 10 secs you find it??? go figure.
For all those reading this Tom's guide explains it, don't get confused with Cromwell Legal bios and the Cromwell 2.40 Linux bios.

Hi, Welcome to the forums!
It's good you solved your problem but since you mentioned Linux I just wanted to say..
I just setup a server at home to run, XP Pro, Win2000 and CentOS 5.1 GUI
I am very versed in Linux shell and so on because I run many servers with it but holy cow! The CentOS GUI (Gnome and KDE) rock. At first I setup an old Red Hat Linux 8.0 to play around with and man was I impressed. Linux was do things many years before Microsoft products were. It is as if Microsoft sort copies or borrows from Linux.
I use Vista Ultimate too and I can't help but feel my CentOS GUI blows it away! Oh and the server is old would would suck running Vista yet is runs fast, everything is instant. It may even run overall faster than my Dell XPS Q6600mwith Vista.
I just wish we could have Linux on the xbox 360 He He _________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

Hi, well, I do this for a living too but it is one of the things I do for fun as well. I love to try everything I can get my hands on. he he _________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!
