Thinking of running XBMC via component cables to a 720p LCD HDTV.

I've seen that the XBMC options allow you to set the screen to 720p but what does that do to videos? Does the xbox switch back to SD when a video starts or can it upscale?

I'm concerned because from what i've read, playing straight Divx videos to an LCD TV will look pretty bad

yeah its hard to gauge from user opinions since LCD has gotten so popular a lot of people dont notice problems with the picture until it is directly compared to something better. But if you dont see any problems with the picture then its a good buy

but i cant take a gamble on my screen

So a 640x480 AVI will get upscaled by the xbox to 720P via component cables?

[quote="Vatoloco"]
Yes.

from a private forum, the info bar shows that XBMC upscales the original video resolution to 720P output via component

cant wait to see the results

I got a huge plasma and i would suggest running 720 over 480 anyday for viewing your divx/xvid movies. Even though it doesnt upscale it does make them look much nicer..

SD 480 sucks.. lmfao.
