I had my modem and pc on and all, and lightning bolt hit somewhere like right by my house.
It fried my modem and my onboard ethernet.....i had to wait till about 9 tonight to get a new modem and then install a new ethernet card, stupid gay $H1T if you ask me....just thought i would say this because it really pisses me off! _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

That sucks man.. I had 2 computers that had their motherboards fried at the same time from that. Now I have a pretty good surge protector I plug my computer, tv, cable, router/modem and xbox into. _________________

My server (which i am using right now) lost a stick of RAM to lightning about a month ago... took a couple weeks to figure that one out. A lot of the time, you'll lose a video card. You're lucky it was just the modem and the NIC... I would hate to lose my gfx card! _________________

Thats why if it looks like it may have thunder and lighting outside you have to turn off all of your electronics. _________________

my old man had a ball of lightning shoot out of his TV screen during a lightning storm while he was in boy scouts. So, it's not only russian roulette with your electronics, its russian roulette with them and whoever else is in the room!
