I've been strolling through the forums for a couple of days and I can't seem to find the exact information I'm looking for on this topic. A friend of mine wants his Xbox softmodded, and wants a larger harddrive put into it. He is looking at a shiny 750 GB model like I have in my chipped box, but I wasn't sure if there were drive size limitations with the softmodded boxes. It's been about a couple years since I've had to softmod any boxes, let alone put a larger hard drive in. I've already tried to talk him into getting a chip, but he refuses.

If he plans on using unleash x, heres how to do it: build the harddrive however your gonna do it (chimp or xboxhdm 1.9),go to your system/settings/storage menu, enable F: (if you havent allready), and finaly enable G:. Tahts all you gotta do. I'm sure its similar with other dashboards. _________________

That is what I thought on setting up the drives, and it is good to hear their aren't any size limitations. This will be the 2nd drive I've put in using the xbhdm method. Not bad way to go, but I prefer chips hands down. I never put anything but UnleashX to start with for the guys I chip/softmod for. I'll put XBMC on as an app most of the time though. I have been missing from this forum for a long time, I really need to get back into the swing of things.

With a hard drive that size your going to need to use 32k clusters to stop the data from currupting when the hdd starts to get full.

Already got that covered, but thanks for reminder. I have that on my normal steps for new drives, softmod or chipped, but sometimes I just skip certain steps of things I've done before. Always good to have a reminder of important stuff like that. He would kill me if he had to retransfer over all of his music, tv shows, and movies if that problem had occured.

Yeah very true. Anyone ever heard of internet 2 though??? 120GB\s download speed. Now that's what I want. Also they're workin on a new type of connection I saw in popular mechanics thats supposed to be about 160 times faster than cable connection's top speed. _________________

I'm happy with my current speed, and I figure that connection is going to be outrageously expensive. Of course what we pay for internet here in the states and the quality we get is horrendous.
