Posted: Sat Sep 29, 2007 9:05 pm Post subject: Obvious software issue need help transfering via chipped box
I have a chipped x box that has worked great for two or three years. Im trying to soft mod a 1.6 and a 1.0. I was unable to use A.R. successfully so I ftp ed the files to my chipped box to E:udata and then transferred them to a memory chip for the Xbox to the new Xboxs. I can see the game saves in the Hard drive memory on the 1.6 and the 1.0 Im using the splinter cell exploit.
when I start the game It shows Linux when I select it per the instructions I get and error screen at the same place on both machines. please correct me when transferring the files from MY pc to the xbox I have to unzip the files and only Transfer the U data files? this is about the only thing I was unclear on. I can see the files on the memory chip I can transfer them to the Hardrives of both X boxes the appear correct. when I try to deploy the exploit. frag, error 21 on the 1.6 and needs service screen. on th 1.0 it frags the Just the needs service screen . any Info will be appreciated

well if u have a chipped xbox this will be simple. just do a hotswap with ur xboxs and use aid and install a softmod from there..if u want i can explain a little more. _________________

You need to keep them ziped up or the way i did it was to take the folders out of the udata folde just use the folders with the long # string for a name.

Yes please give me the low down on the hotswap. and wes213 thats what I did. I unrared the udata folder and took the Long number file and Ftped it to my chipped box then transferred it to the new boxes via a 8mb memory card for xbox . and it shows up on both machines in the game save section with the little Icons and everything. and when I start splintercell I see linux but when trying I get the error screen on both boxes. thanks for replying

Is it possible that you are using a PAL XBox & game, but the exploit is the NTFS version ?(or vice versa).
This was the case in my first softmod & it had me stumped for a couple of hours. _________________

Thats the way to do it with the AR software but when i softmodded mine i did what he is talking about, i put just the # folder on my modded xbox then used it to put them on the card.
Worked for me.

Make sure the game is not a platnum ver. and if you got 2 or 3 bucks you might want to go get mech game and try with it.

Ive got mech, and I am looking for 007, but AR did not work for me maybe cuz i downloaded it off the net , same with Mega X-key. but i can FTp the two udata folders from the extracted files and it works sweet but with all the info that Im leaving behind it makes me wonder that maybe the files are corrupt or that I need more info ftped from those files.

I says Flash memory 8mbs Xbox and there is the Letter i in a white circle? but I don't know if it is and Xbox Brand. I think I will try to move some other file with it to see if it works. but it moves something. because you can see in game save the game icon and so many blocks used?

when using the memcard and transferring files, the number of blocks that the files use are consistent with the type of file every time I have tried with splinter cell or with mech, but I have noticed that they are normally smaller by 40 or so blocks than the multitude of other post or websites could a off brand memcard short me some critical info but still transfer files and icons. I tried the whole process with mech last nite and I think i might have the wrong version cuz it didn't work either and someone said if the linux profile is blank then the version is wrong. sound confusing, it does to me too. still looking for ideas. gonna try new memcard and all so 007 is on the way and I will try that one too. How many blocks should Mech,SPC,007.on the memcard and hard drive take up respectively and is it the same for everyone.
