I followed a tut to install c, by using xboxhd.
The tut I was following sucked. It was hard to follow for a noob like my self. I finally got it working, and when in xboxhd there were 8 options. Well the tut had, "Install exploit 1" and "install exploit 2" I didn't know I was only supposed to pick one. One was refering to option 1 building a hard drive from scratch and the other was referring to option 2, rebuilding the c drive. I only needed files to be put back to the c partition, BUT the tut didn't say only to use which applied to you. Being the noob I was and how happy I was to finally see some progress, I followed both exploits thinking since they were on the tut I should follow word for word. Does this mean since I did option 1 and built HD from scratch that everything else is deleted??? Like my games and emulaters???
Next question, with my mod chip switch off, nothing comes up, no logo no sound no nothing.... With the chip switched on the logo comes up like normal with xecuter 2 underneath but it freezes on that screen.
What should I do??

Yes, your whole HDD gone and added the dash files back lol.
Anyways if you dont get anything with chip off then u dont even have the normal xbox bios... _________________

Great news! my box is back. Unfortunately it was wiped clean, I don't have any games or emulators or anything on it. What I did was using the slayers iso, I extracted the contents of the ISO from quix. I add everything that was in it's c, e, and f, folders to the folders in xboxhd. I made the ISO with with xboxhd. Did the hotswap. Chose option 2 for rebuilding a C partition. Then I went to xbrowser and all the files I had added from slayer, I just copied them to my xbox from the disc!
Only problem I have now is getting everything back to how it was. Which shouldn't be to much of a problem now that it loads up and I can get an IP address to FTP everything over. Thanks for everyones help.

Can anyone give me an example of how there xbox hard drives look though. So when I FTP things over, I can at least put them on the right partitions and all. Thanks

ok, ya sure. If you have a BIGGER hdd i would set it up like this
C= MS Dashboard
E= Moded Dashboard and all applications for the xbox you want
F & G= All your games, movies, music, and pictures
Of course if you dont have a BIGGER hdd, u wont have G only F and i would still do the same setup just - the G drive.
By the way, u need to get AID 4 as its the best wen u have a chip for setting up your hdd right from your xbox. I took your advice and I've been fooling around with the AID installer v 4. But everytime I install apps and emulators and all. After I reboot my xbox without the AID disc inserted it keeps rebooting every 3 seconds. It never loads to any menu it just keeps reseting. Only time it'll load is when I put the AID disc back in, then it just loads it up and I'm back to square one. ANy idea what I'm doing wrong and how to install things that I can actuall go to???

Well I thought I'd worked everything out. After I hotswapped the c drive, I was able to load the AID installer disc. So i reformated the drives, and started installing stuff from the disc. Don't know if I missed something or what but everytime I tried my xbox constantly reseted every 2 or 3 seconds when there was no disc in the drive. Any idea what that was about?? It would load the AID disc up though, so I would load it back up, and reformat the drives and the cache and start installing again. Same thing kept happening until I got the error 21. Why would it give me problems in the first place though? I can't seem to figure out. Your right dartht33bagger, back to the hotswap.

Did you put the chip in yourself, did you buy it or did someone else put the chip in. If you bought it id just sell the box back to him and buy a normal xbox and buy a chip yourself, because this one so far is nothing but trouble. _________________

Someone else put it in my xbox. It's got a switch and all. I'm thinking about waiting till they find out how to flip the 360 instead of investing in another xbox. I really would like to get what I have working though.
When I install the aid disc are there steps to it or something. Or do I scroll through the menus and pick what I want to install?
Are there certain things that HAVE to be installed if I don't do the one click install?

How about I took my xbox to someone who knows a little something about modding etc. He took it apart and I said I don't even have a mod chip. He said it was softmodded, in a different way though, one that has a switch in the back. Needless to say, I was ripped off.
