I've looked all over the web and haven't found a definitive answer for this: does the emulator support in-game saves for roms that have this feature? For example, I tried saving Chrono Trigger using the in-game save feature and could not - same thing with Final Fantasy II.
Could it be that XSNES9X 1.42 has this capability while 1.41 does not? Or could it be my version got messed up through the install hassle (first time through so I had to reinstall xsnex9x a couple times).
If I need to upgrade xsnes9x to a newer version (1.42) or reinstall the current version what is the best way to upgrade or reinstall??? (other than deleting the folder that has the emulator files, FTP the new stuff, and then run the new .xbe file.)

what you need to do is after you save, exit the game and go back to the game selection screen. Then you can exit the emulator and it should save. _________________

Thanks! It works perfect now!!!
I guess the emulator does not write to the disk until you exit out of the game. I was saving and then turning off the xbox.
Another part of the problem was that I was trying to save some games that you couldn't save in just any location. This happened to me while playing Chrono Trigger - you have to save the game while in the overworld.

Exactly. Everytime I mod a box for somebody, this is one of the first things I tell/show them. You'd be shocked at how many people still didnt get it.... _________________

Again, thanks for the help! It's really appreciated since I'm very new to this whole thing. But I gotta tell ya - all the research and downloading over the last few weeks has been well worth the effort!
One last issue I have been trying to tackle is upgrading emulators to new versions. Is it as easy as deleting the emulator folder contents, FTP the new emulator, and then re-run the .xbe document????
I'm currently using xsnes9x v1.41 and would like to upgrade to 1.42.

There's no probs with xSnes9x, its a great, stable emulator. There's not too much difference between the two versions, but if you go for the replace, it really is as simple as you said.

Yeah... I guess your right on that one. Although I'm going to be changing my NES emulator pretty soon. I'm using NesterX right now and I can honestly say I hate it. Fceultra here I come. _________________
