I have searched around this forum and online and have got just one method
I have 3 xboxes
1- 1.6 xbox original -----------**
2- 1.5 xbox softmoded by evox 2002
3- xbox shipped with Aladdin live
and wanted to know if I can softmod my first xbox 1.6 original but i haven't Memory Card and Action Replay
if there is a other method to softmod the original xbox by using the tow xboxes --- i mean Number 2 & 3
please tel me if possible the instructions or not ????

your gonna need a memory card thats for sure so go to ebgames or something you can get one used for about 15$ i think oh and youll also need one of three games: James Bond: Agent Under Fire (I know how to do it with this game if you get one of the other two I cant help much) MechAssault, Splinter Cell 1 (these games must not be platinum editions) so post back when you got those and ill do my best to help.

you could try it if your willing to open up your xbox and taking the time to read that whole thing. but personnaly I think that the memory card and game method is easier. it cost me not more than 35$ (canadian) thats around like 25$ (american) I think and it saves you all the trouble of reading that huge thing. plus if you softmod it with the memory card you can go on youtube and theres at least 100 videos on how to do it if still not sure how to do it after you read the instructions. anyway suit yourself im not forcing you to anything. oh and how exactly did you install your last softmod?

You can hotswap your Xbox HDD with the one with a modchip if you just want to FTP it. I'll explain how.
1. Open up the 1.6 xbox and disc the IDE to your DVD drive.
2. Open up your modded xbox, and make sure you have a CD/DVD copy of AID (any ver.)
3. Turn on non-modded xbox and let the error (11-13) show up. Within eigth seconds of it showing the error, you need to remove the IDE from your xbox's HDD.
4. Turn on your modded xbox with the CD in, and let it launch the CD/DVD of AID.
5. Go ahead and use it to softmod your xbox!

yethats actually quite smart never thought of it thx flaw (kinda ironic if you think about it, a flaw usually screws up sumthing not make it better lol)

Haha, no, my flaw is in soldering... Mainly because my iron isn't for electronics! Industrial sized for heavy electrical work, not fine tuning.
Anyway, thats worked for me so far, except my AID disc is messed up when it comes to EEPROM, if it doesn't work, IM me and I'll try to help.

Disconnect the IDE from your DVD player so it doesn't show up when booting. 2 you get I assume. 3 means anything past 6 in the boot order should have unlocked the hdd since your aladin chip does not know your xbox's HDD pw. Then when AID is booting on your xbox with the modchip you can connect the IDE from the modded xbox's hdd to the one you want to softmod, then either FTP the game save to your hdd you want to softmod or try softmodding with the software.
Here are all the error codes. (IM me on AIM around uh, say... 3 PM Eastern time.)

1 - bootldr - Unknown exactly, something to do with checking the motherboard
2 - bootldr - Eeprom check failed
3 - bootldr - ??/not used
4 - bootldr - Ram check failed
5 - kernel - HDD not locked (retail bioses require the hd to be locked)
6 - kernel - Cannot unlock HDD
7 - kernel - HDD timeout
8 - kernel - No HDD found
9 - kernel - HDD parameters (PIO/DMA/or size {debug}, certain size minimum is required for debug)
10 - kernel - DVD timeout
11 - kernel - No DVD Founnd
12 - kernel - DVD parameters (PIO/DMA)
13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)
17 - - ??/not used
18 - - ??/not used
19 - - ??/not used
20 - kernel - The dashboard was attempted to load and failed; It was a cold boot, and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed, but it (for some reason) needed to be noted that the dvd passed the challenge/response authentication
21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag
Edit: If nothing is messed up, you need to see error 10, 11, or 12.

If we want this as a tut, I can write a more fine print ver of it and then it can be kept for future reference, anyone interested? (Forahobby mainly since I know you seem to run the sites coding and could put it up.)
