Help! I bought a soft-modded Xbox on Ebay about a year ago. It's worked perfectly (apart from the dreaded "Dirty Disc" error). Alas, the other day, my nephew decided to press all the buttons on the controller and managed to restore the standard Xbox dashboard.
Is it possible to restore my soft-modded dashboard, without having to go out and buy games, memory cards etc?

Alas, I don't know for sure - I bought the Xbox already modded. However, if I go into the memory section, I find "Linux Installer", "Linksboks", "UnleashX Xbox Launcher", "DVD X2 Donglefree", "DVD2Xbox" and "Xbox Media Centre" (including a load of saved games). I would assume that the "UnleashX Xbox Launcher" is the softmod?

from what i know, ull just have to find out what game was used, and buy/rent that game, u dont need action replay or anything else now though, becuase the files are still on your xbox.

the linux installer is the gamesave exploit. get an original game disc to re run the softmod

Thanks for the replies. I assume I will have to get hold of a copy of Ghost Recon/007 etc, and a memory card to re run the softmod?

Just make sure they're the original version, not the greatest hits. I got my copy of Mech Assault for like 2 bucks at EB Games. _________________

well u cant just use any of those games, first you have to find out which game exploit was used 007/splinter cell/mech assault , look for a 1byte save from one of those games named linux, thats the game u need.

yes, listen to Berserk87, and its true i payed like $5 for my Mech Assault, so you shoul dbe able to get which ever game was used pretty cheap!
But honestly, if the box was softmodded that long ago, once you get it modded again id reinstall with a new softmod since you can FTP the new game save exploits over
