I am trying to take one of my DVDs and convert it to either Divx or xvid, then ftp it to my xbox. I want to to this as simply as possible. These are the tools I have.
DVD decrypter
DVD shrink
latest version of Divx w/Divx converter.
Gordian knot.

I used dvd decrypt and saved it to a file.
When I went to convert with Divx converter it said it can not convert variable bit rate.
So I downloaded Gordian knot and tried that. It has a nice little guide at the beginning and I got as far as demux all tracks and F4 to save project.
Where do I go next?

Here's the thing. The avi files played fine, and then all of a sudden, I couldn't get any of them to play. I even tried recoverting them and puting them back on with no luck, while the dvd2xbox file played great. I am going try dr dvdix and see what happens.

I once got the newest nero on my big laptop, and it completely took control of the drive it was weird. it even changed the name from Toshiba to something else on the boot and everything, and nero was the only program that could access it. so i had to uninstall and then my drive went back to normal.
