I have a softmoded xbox with a 320gb HD running SID 3.1

I noticed there is also an SID 4.5

Does it pay to upgrade to SID 4.5, and if so, how can I do it

I have googled but to no avail

well i really dont notice the difference between the 2 other than the way they boot but when i softmodded my xbox i never used retail cuz i was always playing games from my hdd. 3.1 has singleboot and dualboot i believe and 4.5 has open tray= retail i believe but 4.5 doesnt take to some xbox's all that well.

load the game you softmodded the xbox with, or load the aid 3.0 cd. If you use the game load the new 4.5 hacked gamesave, first backup your existing info, then remove the softmod, then reinstall the 4.5, then reboot. This machine will then install the msdash, reboot again. If all does not go well use your backups to restore.

There is no need to change unless you are having problems with the one you have. If you want update then just use AID 3.1 to update all of your apps and emulators.
