I hav tried to find out how to get these characters but cant get it.
here is the step I am stuck at.
11. you will get a menu,now choose Option 1 (by typing ‘1’) and press enter to boot VGA console with xbox-drive utilities (default). Type ‘xboxhd’ when it asks you for a login. Another list of options will show up, choose option 1 again (the one that says ‘Build a new Xbox HD from scratch’) and it will begin to format and write the partition table etc. when it asks you about C type yes and when it asks you if you would like an F select yes .
Or maybe I am just missing something maybe they arent anything. Not sure

Dunno where you got that from, but this a quote from the AID3.10 manual:

12. Power down PC and Xbox.
13. Put the Hard Drive back in the Xbox and boot.
PLEASE NOTE: If you get a message about a frozen drive, just disable auto detect for the drive (xboxhdm will detect the HDD even if it's disabled!)

I type in option 1 it does some stuff then pops up asking for the XBOXHD to be typed in when I do that I get device not found canot be accessed. What am I doing wrong everything else seems to go great.
One last thing when I turn the xbox on with the DVDrom removed I do not get error 11 I think if I am right about this is comes up in the upper left corner with a 12 this is DVD perameters (PIO/DMA) is that one OK.

Sounds like the drive is not being unlocked. Keep trying until the drive is unlocked. You should see the drive in your bios, are you? _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I am unsure if I am the Bios is the information that loads on the screen really fast right. If it is how do I go back and look through it if I didnt see the hard drive.

So the hot swapping unlock has not been working. so I made my own xbox eeprom reader.
Here it is.
You need the following:
1 PAK (5v Zenor Diodes comes 2 to a pack). Catalog #: 276-565
2 PAK(s) Four (4) K ohm resistors. Catalog #: 271-1321 (I had to make them using 1K resistors in series took 8 to make two 4K's)
1 female 9 pin connector. Catalog #: 276-1428

This sucks eeprom reader dint work is there any way to get this xbox working again please help.
