Hey guys, thanks in advance for reading my post and helping with advice.

Have an unmoded xbox, do not know its history, maybe previoiusly modded but there is no physical evidence of such. The xbox powers up but no video, just black screen. I thought it was my harddrive but I have unlocked it and put a new msdash on it and still black screen. When it powers up the dvd drive will not open but I have tested this dvd drive on another xbox and it works fine.

I am thinking maybe it is a power issue but all the power on the LPC checks out. Power from the yellow cable and other cables check out. So I do not know anything about bioses, maybe this might be the problem?

Another point is that the LED stays green. I disconnected the dvd drive and powered up but the LED is still green when it should be flashing red and green. Disconnected the harddrive and the dvd drive and still the LED is green on power up but it should flash red and green because the HDD and dvd drive are not hooked up. I am figuring this might be a big clue to the problem.

What do you gurus think?

Thanks for your time and consideration,
Steve

Seems to me that the bios might have gotten corrupted. At first, I thought it was a fragged Video cable like mine is (gotta arch the cable in the back for it to show video). But, you point out that the LED stays green, when you should be getting Error 12 or 05. So, you have two options. 1: A TSOP flash, which is very risky. Or, you could just get a chip and run a hacked bios the whole time (or the retail on a separate bank). If you or a friend have a chip, pop it into the box and give it a whirl.
