Any DVD burner will work, they are all pretty much the same, but I have not had any problems at all with my LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Are you burning as low as possible? This really does make a huge difference _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

you're one of the lucky ones then. It still doesnt alter the fact that burning at a slower speed has better results. Some xbox dvd drives are able to read the sectors on a disc burned at high speed and some cant. Also DVD+R are not generally that compatible
the end result is, to be sure 99% sure ur xbox will read the disc use DVD-R media and burn at 2x or 4x max.
i have a Samsung drive and mine wont read CD-R
Now what you could do is get a PC DVDrom LG8164 drive and fit the mod adapter. That baby reads just about anything, a mod well worth doing if you're comfortable with soldering
