hey, well in less than a week in getting a chip and a larger hard drive put into my xbox so i wanted to get the right things to ftp into it, i was wondering if i could do it using my thompson speedtouch 530 modem as it has a port in the back that looks like it cud be used but i might be wrong, if i couldnt use this how else would i ftp into it?

You can FTP into it by connecting a crossover cable between your computers NIC to the xbox or by connecting the xbox to a router with a patch cable.

if i were to use a crossover cable to connect it directly to the computer how would i know where to connect it or if i have the right port to connect it to?

underneath the jack it has the words DSL in a box. does that help? i couldnt really tell from the pictures
i took a picture of the back of my computer, would i be able to ftp using this port?

well i was having trouble getting an image that wasnt blury so this is about the best i could get
also i dont know if this will help but in network connections there are 2 icons
one is local area connection 4 and says speedtouch and the other says "local area connection, network cable unplugged, SiS 900 PCI fast ethernet adapter"
