Oh dear, it seems that boredom is more constant now and it's
TUT time again. Many users have trouble with FTP clients and
FTP'ing so here is the solution you all crave.
It’s a bummer isn’t it? Ur trying to FTP to the xbox and you got
some FTP client giving u a headache. So, you go off and get urself CoreFTP! .
Well done that’s the first good step you made
and it was free (unlike some other software ). Go ahead and
install the software, when done the first time you start CoreFTP
you’ll see this screen
No sites exist so you need to create one. All FTP connections are
referred to as sites. So let’s fill in the relevant details
(at this point you should have networking correctly set up between
xbox and pc). To test connectivity to the xbox open a command
window, by clicking
START then RUN. In the RUN box in the left corner of the
screen type CMD then hit return, you’ll get a DOS window
appear. At the command prompt type
Ping IPADDRESS (where IPADDRESS is the IP of your xbox)
Then hit return.
For instance here’s mine
Notice the replies from the xbox IP. Good networking is established,
now to fill in the site details
So I gave it a site name, IP address of the Xbox, username and
password and changed the Timeout to something more sensible.
Clicking connect will connect the FTP connection and automatically
add the new site to the site list.
Connected! The left hand pane shows pc drives\folders and right hand pane shows xbox drives\folders
There you have it, site manager now shows your configured
connection. You can also set up FTP to Xbins too. Once you
have signed up to Xbins they’ll give you the connection details
required and you simply click New Site and enter the details.
That’s it! No secret moves or death tricks and no spoon-feeding
either it’s really to simple for that. Have fun!!
