Hi i am having trouble installing a 120GB hard drive into my xbox. i have a Xecuter 2.6 and AID 3.1 disc so to install i did the normal of putting the disc in letting it format and then install. However, now i am having a wiered problem which i did not have when i upgraded last time to a 20gb drive. You see all the extra space not used in C AND E drive is put in F like normal (around105gb). Its when i use DVD2XBOX, and try to burn a game comes the problem. The first game burned to F/GAMES works fine, and same when burned to E/GAMES. But as soon as this is completed, problems start. When i select 'exit to dash' on DVD2Xbox, my console justs flashes red. When i relaod the console, its starts fine, but when i use DVD2XBOX and try and burn a game to the usual F/GAMES or E/GAMES, it either reads 36mb space left, or says that burning is complete, but when the file is checked it has actually copied nothing or only one file of the game. I have no idea what the prob is. Could it be the pin setting or something? I tried using XBpartitioner 1.0 to format F with 16k clusters, but still the same prob. The hard drive is a 120gb 7200 brand new Samsung. Could the drive be faulty? Any help would be great thanks.

edit the DVD2XBOX config file called "dvd2xbox.xml"
do you see the following code section
<autodetectHDD>1</autodetectHDD>
if you do try setting the 1 to a 0 and reboot, then activate F and/or G manually in the DVD2XBOX settings

Hi, thanks for the quick resposne. So i change the dvd2xbox xml from this <autodetectHDD>1</autodetectHDD> to this <autodetectHDD>0</autodetectHDD> and then save right? I did this and then enabled f partion in dvd2xbox settings and still the same problem. The whole program seems to freeze when i start the burning process but then after 10mins or so says burning complete but none or one file has been burned . My dvd2xbox version is 0.7.4.

What DVD ROM do you have? If you're not sure, check under the "DVD/CD Burning" Forums. Read the sticky posts at the top. One of them is authored by me and has a diagram of what DVD-ROMs read what, and what they each look like just by opening the tray. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Hi i have a Samsung DVD-ROM. It is not the discs that are the prob as i upgraded last time to a 20GB har drive and had no probs using dvd2xbox or rippping discs to the drive. I have read stuff from people having the same problem as me, stuff about 'data coruption' but this only seems to happen on 300gb+ drives. Has nobody ever had this problem with 120gb???!!
