Just as much outa desperation as stupidity i wiped all files of my xbox HDD. So just to put me out my misery is that it? Have i finally killed it?

Get an error 16 straight away and no connection with FTP. AID wont boot and although I though I'd get some sort of satisfaction once it was dead I'm actually quite pissed off. ;(

Sorry to hear that happened to ya. I'm somewhat new to this stuff, but you can always get a new hdd and put it in there, right? And wiping your hard drive isnt that bad....its still functional, you probably just need to get your dash and everything back on there. Also, you said you got the error screen when you booted up your xbox. I recently accidentally deleted my UnleashX Dashboard and I managed to put it back on the system by getting an emergency Mechinstaller to let me FTP to my xbox. See if it will still boot up xbox games. If it does, there may be hope yet to salvage that hdd. If not, you'd need to get a new hard drive. good luck!

Oh yeah i forgot there's always the option of hotswapping, but I'd do that only if you cant boot up games.

Thanks for the reply fella. At least there's some hope Laughing

B4 went bed last night, made a new AID disk & put a 1GB dummy file at the begining. The theory behind this was to give the HDD time to spin up b4 it went to the error codes which now range from 13-16. Shocked

Nearly worked!!!. Got to the AID screen but then resets back to error screen at last second GGggrrrr.

Does any of that sound like a prob which could be fixed or has lit a bulb in someones head with a cunning plan????

Hallelujah Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Managed to sort it..

The orig prob was with a bigger HDD I'd installed. Id changed the view settings in XMBC, thats where all went pear shaped and it was looking like was gonna have to hot swap. As I'm a noob to all things x I didnt really fancy this so tried to sort the prob out with the orig 10Gb HDD and FTP. Shocked

Managed to screw this up n all, mainly out of frustration, but like said am a noob. Altho in my case think noob minus an "o" is a better description.

Just as all was lookin grim thought may aswel try the new boot disk in the bigger HDD and to my surprise it worked Laughing

All hail the great AIDeluxe 3.0. Another satisfied user.. Cheers folks Razz
