Hi

Posted this on another forum but no response so -

I needed to softmod a 1.6 xbox, and install a 250gb hard drive into it.

Backed up C and E drives

I already had a modchipped 1.1 version with 160gb drive, so I used this to transfer the Splintercell exploit onto my memory card, I then used the AID installer to setup the softmod.

All went well and the 1.6 box was softmodded.

Then following instructions I obtained from XboxHQ, placed the new 250gb drive into my old chipped xbox, AID then automatically formatted the drives, then I used ConfigMagic to load the softmods Eeprom from its binfile location.

Next I ftped the saved C and E drives back onto the softmodded box.

Finished by installing dash apps etc - this all went perfectly.

Trouble is now I have reinstalled the 160gb drive back into my chipped xbox, it gives me an Error 6 which is to do with the drive being locked/unlocked incorrectly.

Thing is this drive was already locked, and I didn't run ConfigMagic on it, only on the new 250gb HD.

I am unable to get any of my AID discs to boot in this xbox as it immediately loads the Error 6 screen.

I have searched via google about Error 6, but am unclear as to why this has happened?

Fortunately I had backed up all the games etc on the 160gb drive (onto my pc)

Is there any way to recover this drive?

Or if not a way to wipe/format it then reinstall it?

sorry for the long explanation, but thought it would help to see how I got in this mess!

Advice appreciated

An update

I have burned some new copies of AID 3 and 2, but still cannot get these to load.

When booted the xbox displays the hacked x2 colored bios, but refuses to load any AID DVD.

At least 2 of these disks are known to work previously with this same xbox, so I am really stuck as to how to proceed, as all I can see is the Error 6 page.

Help appreciated!
