Disclaimer : I own the original game and I am only making a backup of this game, for personal use only.
Hi,
I am very new to softmodding and I have just managed to softmod my xbox, it now has the unleash x desktop thing ?
So now I come to backup my games, I rip the game disc (via FTP from my xbox to my pc) Then I use Qwix to patch the XBE's I also use Qwix to create my Iso, then I use Nero burning rom se and put the iso onto a dvd (I have tried a dvd+rw and a DVD+r).
Once I have done this I TRY to load it up, (I am using Splinter Cell) all I get on my screen is the Xbox logo then in white writing Splinter Cell loading (or something like that) Then nothing else happens, can anybody please advise me if I am doing something wrong or If there is a better way of doing this.

When backing up your originals you are best to use a program installed onto your xbox called DVD2XBOX.. it is included in AIDELUXE..
With this app you can backup your originals directly to the hdd and it will automatically patch them for you..

btw.. i like your disclaimer as we do not support game piracy only backups of your originals as i know myself when some younger kids get ahold of them they are ready for the rubbish.
I only have the original HD in my xbox, I cannot afford an upgrade as yet but if I use DVD2XBOX Can I the FTP the files to my pc to burn onto a DVD, if so will I have to convert it to a iso (if so would qwix work for that ? or is there a better program to use ?), sorry for all the questions as I said I am very new to this.
And I do not beleive in Pirated games it just cost the customers more money in the future. Thank you very much for your reply.

yes,
once you have used dvd2xbox then copy the files over via ftp and create a XISO of the whole folder.
dvd2xbox will save your games whereveer you choose just make sure you have some room.. It will tell you how much you need.

Ohh actually is it possible to get DVD2XBOX without changing the dashboard of the Xbox from unleash X as I am still using that ? And if so how would I get it onto my xbox (I guess by FTP but where would I store it)

I use DVD-R's and never have had a problem.

if you have FTP then Qwix is by far the easiest and best way to backup games from xbox directly to an xISO on the pc. Follow my tut at this link for creating ISO's with Qwix

Also, it's a bit slower, but it saves HDD space, Qwix can make an ISO directly from the Xbox's DVD drive. Pop the game in, go to Qwix, point it to the DVD drive (D) and tell it to make the ISO, you're good to go. But like I said, it can be twice as slow doing it that way, but it's useful for larger games like Halo 2 and Tomb Raider: Revalations. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

if you use Unleashx or Avalaunch dash then enable boost mode and it'll speed up.
still half the time compared to this
