Hey guys,
I got a question from you guys with some knowlege, I got an xbox 1.0, 40gig hd (segate) and a duo2 chip. I read up on the chip some say it's 1 gig some say it's 512, i used a program already on the box to read and it said amd 256k evo m8-plus on it. Any way, i want to save my games, and update the box with aid 3.0 (cause it has multiple dashes on it like unleash x) How do i do this, do i flash the bios and if so how? I've already fxp'd into the box with Flash, can i backup my games and just flash the bios and install the new aid3.0 auto installer? If so, what do i use to flash the bios?
Sorry but this is all new to me,
used to be all about the ps2, now i'm
really into my box....nuff said thanx in advance,
BucWylde

I think you mean 1k (1024) not 1gig...with that said, hopefully this info will help you. Since I don't know what you currently have on your HD, I will assume we are starting from scratch.
If your Xbox is a 1.6 you can use M8 bios.
If your Xbox is a 1.6b (hynix RAM instead of Samsung) then use M8plus.
Any version Xbox from 1.0 to 1.5 feel free to use Xecuter bios of some sort, as long as it's the correct size. Even the older X2 4983 bios would be fine.
I am not sure if you need a 256k, 512k, or 1024k bios. I do not know the DuoX flashing procedure as I have never installed one of those buggers. I stick to SmartXX, Xenium, Xecuter, and Xchanger products.
First, make sure your chip is flashed properly with the correct bios.
Next, grab your installers disk and pop it in.
Boot your bios and you should get the menu for the installer.
Next, just format the HD.
Then, prepare your HD.
Install dashboards, MS and Hacked flavors.
Install applications.
Install Emulators.
I know I gave you some basic answers, but this should get you started. Once you have some more detailed questions I am sure someone can help further.
Enjoy!
