I am struggling to figure out how to get started on a hard drive reformat. I have have an Xenium Ice modchip on a 1.6 xbox with an 80gb hard drive. I have a copy of AID 3.01 ready to go and it boots fine. I am not sure what to start with first. Do I just reformat using the program on AID? Do I need to backup anything? What do I install first? I did try to format the drives using the reformat tools on AID and for some reason when I click on Reformat drive it does nothing. Just sits there. I tried clicking on the individual drives and I got the same results. What am I missing here? If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated greatly. A friend of mine did the modchip and software install so I am extremly retarded, but I want to figure this all out so I can update and install things on my own. Thanks ahead of time -Brad

Well for reformating you start off by formatting C E and F, then Prepare E and F. After that Install M$Dash on C and install your hacked dash one E then you can install what ever apps you want on E, and leave the F drive for your game back ups and emulators or movies, Etc.. _________________

hellblazer55, thanks for the reply. I tried again this afternoon to reformat but for some reason the AID format program will not format any of the partitions or drives? Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks again ahead of time.

Try to reformat in the xenium menu. Turn your xbox on with eject, goto disk settings, and format. _________________

You're quick! I actually did just that and formatted all the drives. Then I put the AID disc back in to load so I can re-install and all I got was a service code 17? I think I am missing something.

Yes, I have TSOP and then EVOX, which when I try to boot it, it also gives me the service code.

have you tried clearing the cache spaces via xenium menu? disk settings menu I believe.
edit. whoops. your format job probably took care of this. Try and boot tsop with the AID disk inserted _________________

Ok, I apologize, the service code is 16. I did try booting the TSOP with the AID in the drive and I got the same code.

ok, dash related, that makes sense. But i'm curious as to why AID won't boot? Do you have FTP access to your xbox? _________________
