I'm trying to back-up my game, RalliSport Challenge 2, however after the iso it is 6.1GB; too big for a 4.7GB DVD-R. i have some instruction on how to burn files to fit on 2 disks, however i get an error when i try to burn. has anyone had experience with splitting a game (like RC2) because its too large? Tell me what you did to make it work. Thanx.

Hi,
i dont think Rallisport 2 is going to be that easy..
Im sure someone would have figured it out though..
Normally most guys downsize .bik movies and soundtracks to get the game to fit onto DVD-R..
There are plenty of tutorials which explain how to make a XISO.
Heres a link to one of mine..
You can read this XISO in the PC DVDROM too not like other XISO creation tools.. ONE THING.. You cant extract his XISO again..
Well first of all, here's some instructions below that I found (I cannot take credit for this work) on another website forum that shows how to backup RC2 onto 2 disks.
Secondly, my original question in this post, please disregard! I made a simple mistake. These instructions do work and you burn the same as any other backup!
(+ folders Locale,Media & Movies and the 4 xbe files nothing deleted)
Total sise disk2 3.95gig total sise on disk = 4.05gig

it might look alot but compared to the amount of tracks etc, it aint to bad lol.
Disk1 can be used for all other combination of races so you wont use disk 2
untill you have completed amateure, and near the end of Pro.
if there was a list of each file that corrosponds to the excact track name on
the game. you may even get it better than that.but the only ones to be 100%
about are the Rally Tracks.
tried deleting the dvdmenu files and even swapped the into file 90mb with
the a 3 mb renaming it, but looks like all those files are there to stay no matter
what.. could have got a couple more tracks on each disk, but didnt want to use
the full disk space. may get a bit laggy if the disks where 100% full.
havn`t a clue what to exspect when you get to the SuperRally stage because i
havn`t seen the track list. maybe the list that others have posted to put on disks
work better, but this is how i have done mine.
p.s on disk 2 you will find all the HillClimb tracks. realy the only HillClimb tracks that are needed are the HillClimb tracks that are listed above to use with disk 2. if you knew the excact name of those tracks you could just add those files and then fill the rest up with your own combination of other tracks.

If you don't mind investing 149.00 after rebates, Best Buy has a SONY DL DVD9 DVD Burner.
The DVD9 media is the same Dual Layer media that most DVD's and larger Xbox games are burned to.
DVD9 DL Disks can store a whopping 8.9GB of data or 4 hours of Mpeg2 and 8 hours of Mpeg1.
The only kicker is you will have to either order the disks online or find a store that supplies them as best buy ironically sells the drive, but not the disks!! Go figure!!
It's a sweet drive though, and also burns standard DVD5, CDR, and CDRW's!! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
