Every time I use chimps 2.4 to upgrade my hard drive I get the xbox needs service. What am i doing wrong

First of all you're letting chimps upgrade your hdd.. . We need some more info like softmod or chpped, what chip etc. This info wil help us get the answers you need.
Sounds like you forgot to lock your hdd after the upgrade. _________________

I am sorry I have soft mod. When do you swap the cables from dvd rom to the new hard drive. I tried to use xboxdmn but all my computer drives would not pick up the disc that I burned. My compuers are very old. The new drive has to be on slave. Is that correct.

well on chimp you probly ended up with error code 06 right? and on xboxhdm1.9 the boot order have to be cd drive first . so it reads the disc ... before the hd loads up . the hd has to be master and the cd drive slave . also both of the cd and hd have to be on the same ide cable.

Yes I am using a soft mod . Iwant to upgrade stock hard drive to 120 gb hard drive. I am using chimp 2.4 . I cant't use xboxdhm. My cd drives aren't working. Please help me to try to clone my new hard drive with chimps. I am very new at this.

WELL i know alot with pc ... using xboxhdm1.9 .... i'v never used chimp sounds too long and complicated.. but tell me this does xboxhdm1.9 ever load up? if the answer is NO then you forgot to change your BOOT ORDER. did you change your boot order? really its very easy to use xboxhdm1.9 and if you can get another pc to work on , then i can help out _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

it when put disc in it says no operating system. I have the drives on master and the boot up on slave. Everything loads fine except my disc doesn't show me anything on xboxdhm 1.9 i have been trying to up grade my hard drive for month and a half. with no results. Trying to use both with no results

OK! you didnt press F2 and you DID NOT change your boot order .... lol you didnt even start the xboxhdm.....
but on the disc you made you already put a RETAIL MS DASH into xboxhdm.1.9 C ? and eeprom.bin on EEPROM ? thats all you need for now... E is un neceray.
do this : power on pc and press F2 and look for boot order or boot secuance ... change the boot order from primary hd first to second and cd drive as first ... so that way when you turn on the pc the cd drive will be the first thing to try to load something.
are you aware of chaning the boot order? or did you even change it ? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I personally haven't used "Chimp", but to my understanding it's only for clonning HDDs, and can take up a very long time.
As far as I know, "Chimp" DOES NOT lock your HDD, therefor, you still need the use of xboxhdm and your eeprom, if you don't own a chip or chipped xbox. _________________ Xbox v1.1
