i want to know what i have to do to get aid, on my xbox? can i download it, to a flash drive and store it on my hard drive that way, or should i do the burn it to a cd-rw. i am very confused and oh so new to this.

actually i am going to be getting the chip it will be the =xecuter 3 with the x3 lcd face plate, and a 250 gig hard drive. i am going to have to install the software myself but i want to make sure i know how to get the AID on my xbox. i am very new to this, but i am very computer literate, just not mod literate, what do i have to do to get a good software to put games on my hard drive, help a brother out.

You will need to flash your chip with a bios. Then download AID 3.0 from the V.I.P. download section. Extract the files, use the iso updater to create your iso and burn the new iso with either dvd decrypter or Nero at the slowest speed. Then boot your xbox with the chip, launch the bios and insert the aid disc and WHAM!!! Install the dashboards and apps to your hdd. _________________

Prerequisite: Download Aid 3 (and extract using winrar to get the iso)...since it will have even the bios' you need
1. flash bios either via http or burn it to a disc (very small file)...since you will have a 250gb hd you need a bios with lba48 support..it will either say lba48 or 137+ most likely in the bios name or .67
2. burn aid iso to a cdrw or dvd
3. insert disc into xbox and boot hacked bios
4. aid will come up and you can then format and prepare partitions
5. pick to install necessary files such as dashboards (install to c drive) (similar to a computers windows interface) and then applications (to f or g drive) which allow you to utilize your xbox.

just corious dude? you are aware you can softmod the xbox right?
this is one of the reasons why chip takes longer . but yeah like i said im just courious..
oh and softmod takes 5-10 mins and its cheaper...

yeah you are right but you can do so much with a chip i heard, and i guess i just want to do it right. but i know after i get my chip installed i am going to need to help, cause this all to new to your boy

the only problem you have with a chip ( if your not installing it ) is flashing the chip ... but its quite simple really . besides that i dont think theirs any problems.. but mainly its installing the chip and flashing it .
did you see that thread on softmods vs hardmods?
or chips in this case? well you see both end result the same allowing unisged codes such as backed up games linux ftping etc etc ..... so both are the same in the end ..... the only diffrense is with a chip you get out of problems faster and you can custmise it a bit more ... a bit
but really i dont think theirs much to it eiter one gets you there its more really on what you want and how much you spent on it and how much time.

is winrar the same as winzip, and zip reader, cause i have winzip
and i also went to buy some cd-rw disk today, so i have to download aid3.0, but once i download it, and zip it, how do i flash the bios.

first of all are you sure your xbox plays cdrs or rws? 2nd just wait for someone else because i dont know anything about flashing....
i think you burn aid 3 put the disc turn it back on with disc inside and choose the bios type you want .....
