Step 11: Once you are back to the Main Menu, scroll down to 'Install Softmod'. Here's what you should be choosing for each menu (this goes in order):
a] Click Dual Boot for NTSC or PAL (which ever one is for you, if you do not know, please contact someone for assistance)
b] Click Knaves Ndure, Open tray = Retail
c] Choose either the Installation for EvolutionX or UnleashX. For a Novice, I would suggest UnleashX.
Step 12: Three messages will pop up. After reading and understanding each, Press A. On the 3rd message, you will get this message: "All requirements pass. Continue Install?" Click Yes.
but in step 12 i get this message
"eeprom backup found, no other softmods installed, please press A to check if your MS Dash is 5960. If you get a rename error, please install single or dual gamesave."
Then i press A And get this message
"Batch Process Failes
The Last Action Was : -
Action : Rename"
I just signed up today. You did only give it 3 hours between posts though. I have heard alot about AR card corrupting data really easy. You might try and re-transfer the data to the AR card. Sorry I can't help better.

okay so now i have the softmod installed but had to use

Can someone confirm if this is bad or okay and tell me the difference between this and the other dual boot option.
Also when the unleashX dashboard runs and i click Run MS Dashboard ... it says unable to locate MSDashboard on C: or summit.

Sounds like a possibility of a few things, either the transfer of the gamesave corrupted some files like mentioned above, the download that you got may have been corrupted you can try to download again sometimes files get corrupted on the transfer, from what it sounds like this softmod is nknave's SID 4/4.5 if you are just using 4 you may want to try 4.5 if you are using 4.5 it may go back to the corrupted things, you would need to boot the xbox with the tray out, and this would allow you to get to the gamesave menu.
As far as is this pad, no it's fine as long as you don't plan on playing on xbox live, if you have no intentions to do that, you have no reason to use the retail dual boot method. As far as the MS Dash issues, it sounds like you didn't have the latest version, I'm sure you've played halo 2 before so I would guess that you would have the 5690 version, but it's possible that you don't. I know if you go to this link, it has a lot of good links including the link to a copy of the MSDash.

With this you can extract and ftp it, and this would erase the softmod but allow you to redo it. I'd only attempt this as a last resort if you just must have the retail mode or access to the MS Dash. Is there any particular reason you need to go into the dash? UnleashX does gamesave management, I think XBMC can do custom soundtrack ripping.
Oh and as far as replying you sent a message at 2:30am local time, and then you made that reply at 5:30am Quite a few of us are from the US, who are asleep during those hours, if we don't reply within 12 hours, then something is wrong, maybe we missed the post with the influx of all of the other posts, but normally we will try and answer every post as soon as we see it.

dont wanna sound like a complete idiot, but im used to doing playstations not xbox's.
But as far as im aware i have the dashboard installed and can get to the old MSdashboard but have to locate it myself using the file manager which isnt a huge problem but now im struggling to FTP, ive got what i thiought was a crossover cable but my FTO program wont allow me in so i guess it aint a crossover cable ... but thats another issue.
i have played halo2 but dont own a copy. as far as the softmod goes i have installed it but when the disc drive is open it goes to the sid launcxher which is really annoying, the drive has to be closd with no game in to get ot the unleashX dashboard. But the fact that it is installed leads me to beleive thats it not an error problem but yes i am using SID 4 and have looked for 4.5 but cannot find it and cannot use torrents as im at university.
If anyone could send me the 4.5 version or link me to a website thst has it i will give that a go.
I assume now that i can just unistall the mod???? _________________
once you finish downloading aid 3 extract aid 3 but not the sid 4.5 ... i assure you this time no problems will occur....
now i got to fix the sid gamesaves and exploits on that website...

okay, so gus738 has fixed my softmod issues and now thats all working but im encountering another error.
He pointed me in the direction of the Auto Installer Delux 3.0 but afte downloading the file from both mirror 1 and mirror 2 there is no ISO inside the folders to burn to a disc.
Beofre you say extract it in win rar ... i have unrared every single rar file inside and there is no ISO .. is my download messing up or can someone tell me were the little bugger is hiding lol _________________
