Posted: Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:23 pm Post subject: no video with m8 bios, but bugged x2 bios (fixed)
i initially used the x2 bios, but anytime i tried to run program or game within the auto installer or any dash my box would freeze on the loading screen. so i tried changing to an m8 bios, and now it'll boot, but it won't initiate the video, even though the light stays green and everything else seems peechy. what the hell is going on? (and btw, i hate spider now)

now, no matter what bios i try, i either get no video, or the 3 boot x-mas special

Make sure you use the correct bios file.
If your xbox is 1.0-1.5 use only bios that are for that hardware.
If your xbox is 1.6-1.6c(1.7) than use only those.
they should say say something like this.
biosname.bin <<< thisis for older than 1.6
biosname_16.bin <<<this is for 1.6 xboxes
Cause if you can see your chip's os, than it's the bios file your using is wrong. _________________ Xbox v1.1

i can't seem to reflash it, tried with a cd and by network, but all i get is no video or x-mas special........ any ideas, or did i fry my mod somehow?

what chip is this again, and does it come with it's own O.S.?
If it's like a Duox, they have a small switch on the chip that defines xbox version compatibility, try using it. _________________ Xbox v1.1

problem solved, this chip just really blows, friend of mine knew exactly how to fix it, thanks for trying to help (don't buy a spidergx!!!)
