Ive softmodded an xbox with sid4nik and have everything backed up but am waiting on new hdd I ordered and wanted to install msdash and after install I got a error 21 and have tried everything I can think of and read the forums and tried a cold boot but it dosent seem to want to read the disk , it jumps to the error screen I cant get back to the dashboard or even a unleash x logo.
It is a version 1.3 xbox and I used the mechassault hack
Any Ideas would be a great help
Anyone had any luck using an old formatted 30g hd? As a temp hard drive

Well if you cant load a normal game, then there is no other option. Youhave to buy a chip, do a hotswap, or find someone who has a chipped xbox and let them reformat it for you. _________________ Moddingbandit

I have another xbox Ive softmodded actually 2 of them. Ive never hotswapped or reformatted. Im reading a tut on how to hotswap now

Well the softmodded xboxes wont help for this. Hotswap is tricky and can leave you with a dead weight. Just be careful. _________________ Moddingbandit

a hotswap will not risk to end result of a dead weight. lol its already as it as so hotswap will NOT make things more complicated its simple if he messes up then he needs chip ... only 2 things can fix this and its eiter one .
now bro why did you have to install ms dash lol if sid 4.0 and above dont require further steps as they scritped for ex. if you dont make a back up of ms it wont create softmod.
furthermore lets just try to hotswap w/out eeprom what it consist of just power on your pc hit pause break before bios reads anything then power on xbox and quickly unplug the xbox ide and plug it to the pc ide cable and from there just fellow the simple steps and you will be on your way with a brand new xbox _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
