Hi,
I`m using FlashFXP to connect my Xbox to my Pc. I have done everything posted by "forahobby" at http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-85.html.

When I try to connect, this happens:
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 -> IP=192.168.0.2 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)

I tried turning off passive mode and I have try clicing randomely in every options available without luck.

I would be glad if anyone knows what to do.

The Ip stays the same. When I try to connect on the FTP, it says
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 -> IP=192.168.0.2 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (Connection timed out)

I would suggest getting a router, linksys my pref. Then connect through it. Make sure static is off, and that you have the router set to Auto.

My Pc ip is 192.168.0.1, xbox ip is 192.168.0.2

I was able to make it work last year without a router, my pc hard drive blew up and its the first time i`m trying to link my xbox to it since I change my hard drive.

thanks anyway, I do not have a router so I will continue trying anything

Well maybe you could try turning on static ip, then make you own ip, such as 192.168.1.101. Thats what i use so maybe try that.

I still can`t make it work, could it be because of the following?

In Windows IP configuration:
IP routing enable.......: NO
WINS proxy enable....: NO

In Ethernet adapter local area connection:
Dhcp enable..............: NO

In PPP adapter:
Dhcp enable..............: NO
NetBIOS over Tcpip...: Disabled

If it could be because of the following, how do I change it?

as long as your using a x-over cable, your dns, gateway and subnet match, you only have to set the i.p`s on both computer to be sequential (192.168.1.10 & 192.168.1.25) 192.168.1.x or xx will work.

other obvious things to check are ftp enabled settings on the xbox,

if your getting a timed out error than either your i.p settings arn`t correct or haven`t gone in yet (xbox has to be rebooted before changes to the i.p will occur)

also check your duplex settings for you pc`s ic, try changing it to 10 half or auto whilst you leave flashfxp trying to connect.

don`t give up though.
