I've been looking for help in the newbie and AID forums on this but I'm not getting anywhere.
I just got a used xbox that I believe may have an xecuter 1 chip in it and I can't get it to boot to anything other than the MS dash even though I know for a fact that there's an alternative dash (evox or Unleashx) on the hard drive as I took it out of another working chipped box.
I take it the Xecuter 1 chip has the ability to boot to an alternative dash and if so is there perhaps something I need to do in order to get it to do so?
Thanks in advance for any help.

If your not sure what xecuter chip you have, open your xbox and take a pic of it if possible and post it here. Need to be definately sure what chip you have. _________________

I can't actually be sure it's an xecuter at all. The guy that sold me the box said he thought it was but couldn't be sure himself.
I just accesed the ExoX dash using AID's 'boot dashboard' function and then ran BIOSchecker from the applications menu and it says CHIP TYPE - MODCHIP, Using genuine BIOS - X-Ecuter. This means nothing much to me but I thought it may help you.
I know there is no name printed on the chip as I checked it when replacing the hard drive. I also know there was only one red wire coming from it. Will a picture still help? If so I'll gladly take one but I don't want to pull the box apart if you have all the info you need here!
It's 3 in the morning here in the UK so I'll get back to you on this tomorrow.
Thanks ever so much for trying to help!

Here's a pic of the chip. This is where you tell me it's not a Xecuter at all and to get the hell out of this forum!!
Seriously though, Xecuter or otherwise, I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I could solve my problem.
Cheers

That's a xecuter alright. It's a ver 1.1 chip. Here's some info on the perticular chip. looking at the specs, I don't think you can even edit or reflash the bios on it, so booting to another dash is most likely out of the question. _________________

Thanks for your input mate.
Is everyone else in agreement then, I'm not going to be able to boot an alternative dash with this chip?
If anyone has any ideas on what I could do I'd love to hear them.
One thing that I considered was putting in a big hard drive and locking it with evox using the boot dashboard option on the AID disc and then softmodding the box. Could that work? What are the problems associated with soft modding a ready chipped box?
Again your advice will be greatly appreciated.

The chip isnt flashable, it was pre programed, so you are going to have to replace the chip. _________________
