I have an Unmoded V1.4 or 1.5.
I bought it a year ago at a pawn shop, before buying I looked over the
seals real good to be sure it had not been tampered with in anyway.
For the past year it has worked flawless.
A couple of weeks ago it started this stuff of when I power up
and thats it. All the lightings would go throu thier normal green flash
then to a solid green light, HDD spinning, fan blowing, but
I do not get any sound or video just a black TV screen.
I tried turning it off and on a few time and then it booted up and all
was fine.
Over the past couple of weeks it just got worse to the point where I am
now of no boot up at all.
I got on the net and did some research and found some post that
describe my problem pretty clear or at least I think they do.
I believe I have a "Coma Consloe"
I have read that in V1.0 and V1.1 you can solder a jumper on the
back of the Motherboard to get it to boot from another sector of the
chip. So i checked the serial number and then my graphics chip and
as fate would have it I have a box later that v1.1.
So now I am looking at getting a mod chip.
I have been looking close at the Xecuter 3CE and Faceplate.
I have explained as much as I know, as I am a newb to mods.
I bought a used xbox rather than a new one because I was wanting
to mod it, but since it was working fine I figured why mess with it.
No time like the present to get started.
Will installing a chip fix my problems with my box??
What do all of you think I need to do?
