I have a few questions about pcsxbox. Is it possible to run games on it from a cd? Im not talking about the actual copy of the ps game, but a copy of that disc? I have a bunch of psone games, but i sold my ps2 cuz its a pos and want to play my psone games on a real system, but i dont have a big hd yet and was hoping that i could run the games of a cd-r. also i was wondering if any one could list the bios i need for the emulator cuz i am pretty sure that i have them all cuz i have seen lists of bios for ps before but i am not sure if maybe they missed one, i figured i would double check this with u guys. But when I copy the game to the hd from my pc (I make it a iso first) and i start the game on the emulator it just goes to a black screen and thats the end of it, i know not all games are gonna be compatible and if they are they may not run properly, but i dont think compatability is the problem here. sorry about the book guys, but i just need some help. _________________ "Pain has a face, allow me to show it to you."

OK dude, you need to put the game in your PC, and rip it to a bin/cue image file (Alcohol 120% or other imaging software is adequate). Then, using qwix, make an iso image of the bin/cue files (the xbox can't understand standard images, qwix puts it in a format the xbox can inderstand).
Then simply burn the qwix image to a CD, bang in your xbox & away you go! on pcsxbox, select the .bin file, rather than the .cue file.
This should solve your problems. Any other worries, give me a shout.
Cheers,

Ok ive got psx games working when i burn them to the hard drive (using the .img file) but seeing as i can only hold 2 games on my hd at the moment (due to space limitations) i want to be able to play these games from a cd-r if thats at all possible. ive been up for the past two days with no sleep trying to figure this process out. ive tried several different burning programs ive tried converting the .img file to a bin/cue. ive tried converting the bin/cue and the .img to isos and every other thing imaginable. ive read several miillion forums and readmes and other files tryin to figure out how to burn them onto a cd to play from the cd. i dont know what else to do. if this is at all possible to play games from cds, and if anyone has this working properly please please please give me detailed instructions on how to do this. my brain cant take anymore researching.... _________________ "Pain has a face, allow me to show it to you."

get qwix - then use qwix to make an iso of your bin/cue files. Burn the iso to a CD (as an image, don't burn the actual iso file to a CD) then you're ready to go

if you put a ps1 disk in a computer you should see the files on the disk when exploring it. No special coding like xbox games. Cant play it on the computer unless you got a emulator that will run it. _________________

Just to clarify, there's many ways to play PSX "roms". Unfortunately, you cannot play the discs (as copies) from the DVD Drive of the Xbox. No one's really gotten down to the nitty gritty and done it. Now, if you're running a newer version of PCXBox (or whatever the hell the name of it is) you can play them as a .iso from the HDD, or (here's the cool ass part) a .iso from your COMPUTER'S HDD via SMB. Just set up the networking options in the menu.
If you really really wanna waste the discs. You can burn the .iso's to CD-R (or DVD-R) as DATA. Do not burn them using Nero Image burner, or DVDDecrypter, as that will actually burn the data inside the ISO and f00k everything up. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

You can't run PSX disks on your xbox, the file system is too different.. By ripping the CD to bin/cue files on your PC, then encoding those bin/cue files usinf qwix nd burning the CD, you'll be able to play them on your xbox
