How do you replace an eeprom.... Do you have to physically open up your xbox or is there a way to replace/program to xbox by software? Can anyone also tell me where i can get a fresh eeprom without getting scammed? Help would be appreciated...

I would use a program called ConfigMagic. You can download it through our download section or you can find it on the auto installer deluxe cd. All you do is upload the eeprom.bin file to your xbox then ConfigMagic can update it for you. I found a virgin eeprom on www.xbupgrade.com and was sent one within 24 hours of my payment. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I'm not really banned but I'm looking to replace my hard drive and still be able to go on live so i have to replace the eeprom also. If i were to do this, can someone tell me should i update eeprom first or upgrade hd first? I also heard something about having to manually remove the eeprom from the motherboard for something... i'm looking to replace hdd and eeprom and still be able to play on live.

so your not really banned? what does that mean..either you are or you arent...if you are then yeah you can replace the eeprom wiht just cause but if your not why would you replace it? you can upgrade the hard drive and go on live still if your not banned...yes replacing the eeprom involves removing it from the mb and solderin in a new one...as far as i know...

Basically, let me rephrase everything i said to make it simpler for you guys..... I'm currently playing on xbox live. I'm not banned or anything. Everything is good. Now i want to replace my retail hard drive with a new hard drive and still be able to play on live. I have to replace my eeprom because xbl already married my old eeprom with my retail hard drive. i'm looking to be able to stil play on live with diffrent eeprom cuz i need 2 put diffren 1 on new hd so i can play on live with out gettin ban due to same eeprom registerd on diffren hd . Now, I was wondering how i could do this? ANy suggestion anyone?

I'm very glad you understand and that you've done your reseach, and yes it's possible what you want, and here's a not so defined way of doing it.
buy virgin eeprom (i can sell 1 for 10bucks paypal only)
1.- load up and install a softmod that doesn't support virtual mounts(SID 2 or 3, UXE, etc.. don't use SID 4 or My installers for this)
2.- install configmagic to hdd, after you use either that or evox to create your backup, than you'll simply take the file and make sure it's named eeprom.bin, take it to your configmagic folder called DATA, after you load up ConfigMagic, and load eeprom from .bin file, and tell it to flash, it will backup current eeprom, unlock your hdd, flash new eeprom.bin, relock your hdd(this i'm not too sure if it relocks, but it at least tells you if it's lock, and you may lock it before you exit configmagic.
3.- new eeprom.bin flashed on xbox will be the same you'll use with xboxhdm to build your new hdd and lock it with it.
4.- once it's all good, test to go on live with no mods on new hdd and eeprom on xbox.
5.- Install a Softmod that will allow you to go on live, or cold boot game.
Recomended Softmods.
Ndure (Next Dymension Uber Rmenhal Exploit)
SID 4.4 (not out yet)
My "Knave's Softmod Installer 666" (pm for torrent info)
SID 4 (out but not good for PAL xboxes)
Kingroach's Ndure 2.1 or 3.0 (pc installer)
Krayzie's Ndure 1.0 (gamesave style) _________________ Xbox v1.1
