Absolutely could be caused by scratched/imperfect disc or burning speed/settings. Even in perfect disc conditions it is some times difficult to read them. I recomend re-burning aid disc and using diff media to see what type your dvd likes. if you list more info here on what media, speed burnt at/settings used and dvd drive you have im sure peeps will help with recomendations. Also would help to let us know how it plays retail games as well. If dvd drive is on its way out....... may never load aid/apps properly.

thank you
copy function fails are due to 1 of the few reasons.
1.- Target is full. no space left.
2.- Target is same as the Source.
3.- A/the files exist therefor it aborts. can't copy and overwrite.
4.- Non-Formated HDD. if your chipped, you must format hdd to install, but AID should do this when it boots
5.- it's not only a disc problem, it could also be a DRIVE problem, i've experienced it with thompsons. sorry.
6.- could be the fact that i ran out of excuses *runs to finish DSSS*
