Ok here's the deal... lets see if theres a way to work this...
I have a softmodded xbox I bought here (I'm in the military deployed to afghanistan) but its on the standard retail HHD. I want to instal a larger HHD but I dont have access to a PC to do any swapping. I do have access to a chipped xbox, and I can ftp to whatever from a laptop no problem.
Is there a way to do this? I also have an old slayers evox autoinstaller that will run... and the download speeds are two slow to download sids...

i might be missing something as i've never done it myself but:
backup and ftp the chipped xbox's eeprom to the laptop. then backup/copy ftp the softmodded xbox's eeprom to the laptop. load the softmodded xbox's eeprom onto the chipped xbox. insert new harddrive and if you only have Slayers.... pop that in and format prepare the harddrive, locking it with configmagic when your done. pop that hdd into the softmodded Xbox. put the old hdd back in the chipped box and restore its eeprom

thanks I'll go back and give this a shot... I can see how it works... its just a matter of talking my friend into letting me open up his box... but see how I put the new hhd and installed everything for him in his chipped box in the first place I think he owes me

Thanks for the help... I decided to just hold off with teh softmodded retail drive I have since I ordered a s.p.ice chip a few weeks ago and that should be here soon anyways.. I was just being impatient...
