hey can anyone help me here, i tried to backup THAW to my HDD i'm using px hdd loader. at first it freezes at checking disc size. i upgraded my hdd loader to whatever is on aid 2.0. when i tried again it said game filename too long. so i used xbox ftp client put the disc in my xbox and went from my rom to my hdd. it worked and i started playing but as soon as i get to the first level and pick my haircut then exit it just freezes and makes a loud buzz and the only thing i can do is shut off the box. i tried to use dvd2xbox and it hangs on checking dvd tray. of course my dvd2xbox is only version .6 somethin or another. anyway any suggestions??? i'm stumped and i can usually just use px hdd loader to backup my games. any help would be greatly appreciated, i might even be able to make a trade for some help.

I`ve used it for backing up games for ages without any trouble at all.
i dunno i think i need a patch for this game has anyone been able to backup succesfully??? i'm going to try to get dvd2xbox .7.1 but i have .6.6 right now so i don't think it will matter too much.

hmm nm i think my disc is bad it won't get past the beginning when i play straight off the disc.

I tried dvd2xbox, unleashx and px hdd loader and I still cant seem to copy it any ideas? its a retail disk.

I do know that the file names in THAW are too long. I can't FTP the folder over to my xbox through Flash. The movies, the characterrs. Someone knew about the FTP file names... It blows. So, I just burned it and it worked fine. If you original's skippin... then, yeah, it's a problem. You might wanna go get a different disc. Or use a torrent site to download an Iso... Since you own the original, it's not illegal to download off of a torrent site. Try it, see if that helps. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I have read a couple of forums and there may be a couple of ways to do it.
get attach.xbe from XBINS -path is /XBOX/apps/filemanagers/driveimageutils/
edit the Game title of attach.xbe to (TH American Wasteland) use c-xbox tool or any other xbe title renamer. if you dont edit, the title of the game it will be ATTACHER VIRTUAL DISC.
Once that is done rename the attach.xbe to default.xbe
now rename the Tony Hawks American Wasteland ISO to (TH American Wasteland.iso)
------>FTP THE FULL TH American Wasteland.ISO<--- and the default.xbe(renamed from attach.xbe) to the same folder.
--->only two files should be in the TH American Wasteland folder:
TH American Wasteland.iso and default.xbe
restart xbox
And it should work
or
FTP game directly from Xbox to PC
2. Run XBEPatcher on TH folder on PC
3. FTP back to Xbox
or
Just use Craxtion 4 or Qwix to copy the game from the Disc in the xbox's dvd drive, then either burn it of ftp it back to the xbox.I think both Craxtion & Qwix rename long filenames.
Give this a try and if it works pass it on to everyone

see, that's great for the title of the game and all, but the acutal movie file names and such are too long. Hell, my burned copy even lags and jumps like a whore lookin for crack at certain points. It looks like this is going to be the future of games with long names. If they can stop a couple of thousand people from burning or copying games they will. The best thing we can do is stick together share information and read read read.

seems women tend to stay around from this and pc's which is a shame. I am a mod on one of the largest pc site on the web and do wish there were more women but then again there are advantages as well lol.
