Posted: Thu Sep 22, 2005 8:24 pm Post subject: Successfully Installed Softmod with Splinter Cell.....BUT...
I went to sleep having many thoughts of all the great stuff I could do with my x box now. I wake up this morning and I find that the X Box was back to it's original Microsoft dashboard..... and I couldn't find anyway to get back to the softmod......(my 7 year old brother was using it.... and somehow fucked things up)
So I called up Microsoft a bit later..... got my restore code......cleaned the hard drive...... I figure ok now I can do the softmod install again and all will be well.......Not a chance....... When I go to splintercell and do the same thing I did that worked last night..... it just freezes now.....
What exactly is wrong???....and what can I do???......Spent 30 bucks on this action replay shit..... I dont want it to be wasted money lol.... Am i gonna have to take the loss on this one or what...... Thanks.....

OK, firstly I'd try deleting the gamesave from your Xbox and copying it back over again.

You go to system info...... press Y and then with the left thumb stick.... you go Right.... Down.... Left..... Left......
You have to call Microsoft for that....and get them to give it to you..... i faked that my X Box was "in need of service".....
And yea it just went bak to the regular MS Dash..... thats all..... and everytime i try to softmod it again.... it just freezes....

Yea thats exactly what I did....... and it still freezes..... I totally restored the x box to factory settings.... wiped out all game saves...... and it still just freezes when i load the linux profile from splinter cell when it's supposed to go dark and show up the unleash x thing.....

Hm, weird indeed, and another weird thing is that restory key, I've never heard anything about them at all. How did you enter it?
The only way I think could save you is a modchip, the Xenium S.P.ICE is a good chip and solderless too.

you could use pirrup's hotswap tutorial and instead of putting the regular dash files back on, just use the exploited files that way you dont need to use the AR or splinter cell at all. _________________ XCM Halo 2 blue case

You would go to settings...... system info......
Then at the system info screen...... (the code varies by your box's serial number)......I had to press Y...... and then Right.... and down.... and left......left....... you do the right and left left part with the left thumbstick....
But yea.... shit.... i need to buy a modchip now.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......i aint into that whole opening the x box stuff..... lol....guess i'll need to pay someone else to do it....

Thanks for that info. I figured it would've been something hidden in the MS dash to do it.
There are ppl on the forums here that could do it for you, I'm sure someone will read this and put their hand up to do it.
